Usain Bolt is now the King of the tracks as he is the first person to win three consecutive Olympic 100m titles.

He was the winner at the Beijing games in 2008 and at the London 2012 games also, making him the greatest sprinter of all times. Just before he celebrates his 30th birthday on Sunday.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness said Bolt’s indomitable spirit and focus , inspires not only Jamaicans, but millions of people all over the world. And Jamaica is fortunate to have a son who inspires so many and ensures that our country continues to be the sprint capital of the world.”

And the Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller said “Bolt has enshrined his name in history as one of the greatest athletes of all times. She said “Usain Bolt exemplifies the best of sportsmanship, he is a worthy recipient of the highest accolades and a Global ambassador of true talent, dignity and integrity in sports.” “He continues to inspire Jamaicans and other people across the globe to embrace their heritage, identify their passions and pursue their dreams relentlessly.” She also added.

Prime Minister Holness also spoke of plans to reveal an appropriate initiative to honour all the athletes who have competed on the world stage and brought rich tremendous pride to the nation.


Added to that, the Minister of Sports, Olivia Grange has started planning a welcome home reception for the whole team. So that Jamaicans will get an opportunity to show their gratitude for what they have done for the Jamaican spirit. “Jamaica will truly honor Bolt and the rest of the team for what they have achieved.” She said.

Usain St. Leo Bolt, OJ, CD, is a Jamaican sprinter. Regarded as the fastest person ever timed, he is the first man to hold both the 100 meters and 200 meters world records since fully automatic time became mandatory.
